January: The Month NYC Becomes Cheap
Yeah you have to deal with sub-zero temperatures and arctic-like circumstances in a city notoriously suited for walking, but if you strategy on traveling to New York City, January’s the time to come if you’re hunting to save a couple of bucks (and avoid other guests).
Hotels slash rates in the winter months, restaurant week (winter edition) signifies amazing bargains at some of the city’s ideal restaurants (prix fixe lunch for $24.07 and dinnter for $35), and fewer vacationers implies additional chances to score half-off Broadway tickets at the TIX booths.
And just to add a few far more, January ushers in the year of the Ox through the Chinese New Year — which of course is celebrated in North America’s second biggest Chinatown Martin Luther King Jr. Day suggests an extra evening to head out for the night for quite a few New Yorkers on January 18 and my birthday is on the 28th, a day in which I will be lunching with Mayor Bloomberg, coptering around Manhattan with Donald Trump, and capping the evening off with bottle service at my favorite club with my fantastic buddies Puff Daddy and Jay-Z — you know, a typical New York birthday.
